UGANDA : Urunani date Rwanda’s Espoir in men’s Zone 5 final
Although power went off at the Lugogo Arena last night, the lights were back on and the second men’s semifinal of the FIBA Africa Zone 5 Championship was ably completed.
It was Burundian side Urunani who played a high quality game to win 76-61 over Kenyan side KCB Lions, a repeat of last year’s final.
Urunani, the titleholders were superb in movement,
coordination and passing of the ball. They executed so many throws that earned them the result on the evening.
But it will be an affair less Ugandan sides. DMark Power failed to reach the final after they fell to Rwandan side Espoir in 67-54 loss. From the start, they trailed 20-5 in the first quarter. Espoir Aristide Mugabe scored 26 points, the highest in the games.
“This time round, we managed to move out of the group and we are progressing. We did our best” Isaac Afidra who scored 11 points, the highest for Power, said.
