Nigeria: Installation of New Surface Delays Basketball Championships

Matches at the ongoing 2012 Nestle Milo Basketball Championships in Lagos were yesterday delayed due to the resurfacing of the playing court by the sponsors of the competition.
The matches that were originally scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. had to be rescheduled for 2 p.m.
There was no Nestle official on hand to explain the reason for the delay in the commencement of the matches.
NAN reports that that the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos venue of the Championships was locked, while the installation was being done.
Meanwhile, matches listed for the day included: Yejide Girls Secondary Grammar School, Ibadan versus St. Jude's Girls Secondary School, Amarata, Bayelsa, in the opening match.
The second game in the Girl's category would see Government Junior Secondary School, Zine, Taraba contend with Asaba Girls Secondary School, Asaba.
In the Boys' category, the two matches would determine the second semi-finalist who would be contending with two-time winners, Ahmadiyya College, Kano that had already won its two qualifying matches.
Government Secondary School (B), Minna, would battle for supremacy with the 2011 second runner-up, St Augustine's Seminary, Ezzangbo, Ebonyi.
The second game in the boys category would be between Government Secondary School, Ilorin and Greater Tomorrow College, Akoko, Ondo.
The semi-final matches would begin at 8 a.m. on Friday. NAN
