KENYA : Eagles maintain NBA lead

Barclays Bank basketball team are still at the helm of the Nairobi Basketball Association League Zone ‘A’ despite going down to 7th placed MKU Thika campus 49 – 43 in a match played last Saturday at the Railways Sports Club. The loss to the students means that Barclays so far has 32 points from 15 wins and 2 losses. MKU on the other hand has 22 points from 6 wins and 10 losses.

Zetech College, JKUAT and Little Prince are position 2, 3 and 4 respectively with Zetech having 30 points from 12 wins out of 18 matches played while Juja based JKUAT has 28 points losing only 4 of their 16 matches. Maurice Obilo’s Little Prince shares 27 points with Don Bosco (5th place) whom table leaders Barclays managed to recover from their defeat on Saturday to beat them 82-45 the following day.
In the second half of Zone ‘A’ Shauri Moyo based Neo Sasa Morans are at 6th position with 24 points followed by MKU Thika, high school students Upper Hill (20 points). Dolphins also have 20 points after forfeiting one match, 10 loses and 5 matches.
Athi River side Saints, Woodley Knights and King Deaf are the last three teams of the Zone with 19, 18 and 16 points respectively.

In the Zone ‘B’ Strathmore blades are ahead of unbeaten Equity bank with 37 points while the latter has 32 points. Baraka Extreme (28 points), Old Pirates (27 points) and Multi Media (26 points) follow in the standings. Three teams share 25 points being Daystar University, Kenya Polytechnic and Legacy. Daystar University has played 16 matches winning 9 of the while ‘Poly’ and Legacy both have played 17 matches and winning 8 of them.
Heroes, Our Lady Queen of Peace and Friends of Basketball Kenya edition occupy the bottom three with F.O.B the last team having 19 points while heroes and Queen of Peace share 20 points.
