NIGERIA : D'Tigers Win 4-Nation Tourney Bronze

Nigeria's D'Tigers at the weekend defeated New Zealand 74-66 to pick the bronze medal of the 4-Nation Invitational Basketball Tournament held in Brazil.Host Brazil, already Olympics qualifiers took the gold medal after overwhelming Greece 78-71 in the final game before a capacity home crowd.
Brazil had earlier defeated New Zealand and Nigeria by a 30+ margin and New Zealand lost to Greece the silver medal by close to 30 points.
Mayor of Sao Carlos, host city, the President of the Confederation of Brazilian Basketball, Carlos Nunes and Tournament Partners Electrobras presented the medals at a colourful ceremony at the end of the week-long event.
Nigeria, Greece and New Zealand head to Venezuela for the Olympic Qualifying Tournament today for the tournament, which begins today 2 in Caracas, Venezuela.
The tournament surpassed the expectation of the Tigers as a top-class avenue to expose the team to the type of competition to expect in Venezuela.
Playing against Brazil, a medal contender at the Olympics and Greece, fourth ranked team in the world was more than a welcome opportunity to put the Tigers to a true test and the team heads to Caracas confident to grab one of the remaining tickets for the men's basketball event of the 2012 Olympic Games.
