KENYA : KCB LIONS RUN RIOT AGAINST USIU TIGERS
KCB has had easy wins all through the season and everyone
expected their game against USIU Tigers to be a hard won victory, it was
otherwise. The former champions led by guard Tobias Onyango and Ancette Wafula
whipped the varsity side 78-49 to maintain a flawless start of the season. The
closely contested quarter of the game was the second with Lions winning 16-12
after a previous 20-13 win in the first to take a 36-25 lead heading to
halftime.
USIU then came back strongly for the second half but their
efforts were watered down by a series of fast breaks and perimeter shots that
saw lose the third at 18-9. KCB picked up from where they had stopped during the
third to rule the entire game with a 24-15 win to wrap up the game. KCB’s Tobias Onyango, shooting 1-3 off the perimeter
and 9-12 within the perimeter nailed 22 points while Ancette Wafula bagged 21
shooting 31.25% of three point shots an equivalent of 5-16. USIU’s James Omweno
donated 14 while Simon Mayen had 6 to his tally for Tigers
