COOP Bank had an easy run over the weekend thrashing a worn
out Mennonites 54-20 in one sided dull game played at the Nyayo gymnasium last
over the weekend. The star-studded kingdom Queens, only in their second season in
the Premier League but already sending ripples against the league’s bigwigs control
the entire game from onset finding it easy with 14-4 and 13-3 wins in the first
and second quarters respectively. The second half was equally easier for the
bankers limiting Menno to only three points against their own sixteen.
Mennonites collected strength for the quarter to contest the game that they
already had lost at 11-10. COOP’s Irene Opilo bagged 22points while Menno’s
Belinda Akinyi donated 8 to her side’s
tally of 20.
In another ladies clash played over the weekend, Strathmore
swords cruised past helpless gladiators 49-27 with swords winning all but the
third quarter at 2-14, 4-13, 6-9 and 15-13 respectively. Gladiators would be
mistaken to be playing for fun mostly in the first half with Swords restricting
them to only 6 points two of which were from the free throw line. Overall, the
team had awful 10-32 shots within the perimeter and equivalent of 31.25% and
another worrying 8.33% of three point shots equivalent of 1-12. Swords’ Tanya
Ogwel had 110points while gladiators’ Dottie Owino nailed 5.
