NIGERIA : DSTV BasketBall League: Top 8 Playoff Ticket Excites Police Coach

Police Baton’s Coach Mark Balogun is excited over his team’s qualification for the Super 8 playoff.
Speaking after their victory against Nigeria Customs Basketball Club of Lagos by 57-56 points on Sunday at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, Balogun, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, salutes his players’ resilient to making the Super 8, saying: It’s been a thrilling battle for the fourth slot of the Atlantic conference this season.
I’m happy we finally made the playoff and all we can say is a big thank you the Police authority that believed in us. We appreciate the huge support they’ve given us till date.
ìAlso, our fans have been by our side right from the start of the regular season till we made the cut at the buzzer-shot.î
He promised to prepare his modest team ready before the first jump ball of the Super 8, saying: ìThe players and coaching crew can only repay our loyal fans with a fantastic performance during the playoff, as we hope to surpass our outing during the 2009/2010 season in Port Harcourt.
ìOur mission now is to continue from where we stopped and put up a respectable performance in the Super 8 tournament.î
The Police Baton secured their playoff ticket after recorded a double win over Comets Basketball Club of Lagos and Nigeria Customs by 62-55 and 57-56 points respectively last weekend.
