KENYA : Tigers ruffle Lakeside to remain unbeaten in KBF League

Kisumu based Lakeside were humiliated on Sunday afternoon with a heavy 109 – 68 weeping by Thika road based students United States International University in the KBF premier League at the Nyayo Gymnasium.
USIU continued with their impressive run to the league and showed why they are a team to watch out for this season when they washed in 22 points against Lakeside’s 14 points in the first quarter.
The second quarter saw both teams posting high scores but USIU was superior once again the quarter ending 27 – 20 in favor of the students. This put the half time score at 49 – 34 with Lakeside trailing.
USIU ‘s Victor Bosire was the highest scorer for his side having an impressive 21 points while his team mate Chris Mulumba had 16 points. Evans Letting and Samuel Opel both had 14 points.
In the 3rd quarter, Lakeside improved their attempt and were able to hold off USIU to a 19 – 19 point draw.
But the students were more determined to end the day with a sound victory as they charged in and took a resounding triumph in the last quarter with 41 point against Lakeside’s 15 points.
Romanor O’Conner from Lakeside was the highest scorer in the match giving his side 25 points despite the heavy loss. Dennis Oduor and Joshua Charles followed in terms of points both giving Lakeside 12 points each.
