KENYA : Thunder gets a new coach

Kenya Premier League Basketball team Thunder has acquired the services of Michael Mureithi who will join the team’s technical bench. Mureithi will be assisting head coach Faustine Mugendi in the technical developments of the team starting immediately.
Speaking to michezoafrika.com after his first training session with the team on Tuesday evening, Mureithi said that he plans to settle down in the team fast enough and become part of the valuable addition to the self supported team,
“The head coach has other commitments and may not be available full time. So I will be assisting for the time being and I hope to gauge the players first before I can come up with a long term work plan.”

Thunder are currently at position 5 with 7 points at the premier league standings in the men’s category having won two matches and losing 3.Mureithi’s first task will be this weekend when Thunder take on defending champions CO –OP Bank on Sunday from 4.00pm at the Nyayo Gymnasium.
