NIGERIA : Ayinla, Turi, Abdulrahman for National U-18 Men Basketball Team

The Executive Board of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has approved the appointment of the trio of Coaches Ayinla Johnson (Union Bank), Sani Turi (Kada Stars) and Abdulrahman Mohammed (Bauchi Nets) as head coach and assistants of the nation's U-18 national basketball team.
The trio have been handed the responsibility of moulding a team that will compete for a place in the FIBA Africa Zone-III elimination billed for Abidjan Cote d'Ivoire from June 30 through July this year.
The coaches have been warned by the Nigeria basketball ruling body not to include any player in the DStv Premier Basketball League in the squad.
According to Federation President Tijjani Umar, the aim of the U-18 championship is to help in building a virile national team from the grassroots; stressing any player currently playing for clubs in the DStv premier league is not welcome in the U-18 team.
The coaches have been directed to scout for players from the Nestle Milo secondary school championship and other academies around the country.
The team will open it camp at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria soon ahead the Zone-III qualifiers as Nigeria hope to re-launch herself as a dominant force in Africa basketball.
