SIERRA LEONE : YMCA, Cannon Royals Battle for League Crown Tomorrow

Champions, Cannon Royals would be seeking for revenge in a bid to retain their title as they come face to face with YMCA in the grand-finale play-off of the Sierra Leone Amateur Basketball Association on Saturday at the National Stadium basketball court.
This will be the second meeting of the two sides after YMCA prevailed over the champions in the league's opening ceremony with three points win 48-45.
However, the Royals are ardent to make amends for their opening defeat and if their performance in eliminating difficult rivals, YSC, in the semi-finals is anything to go by, then it will be a difficult showdown on Saturday.
For Cannon Royals' key player James Johnson who is in contention for the tournament's Most Valuable Player, they will prove to YSC that they are the champions.
"We are excited to meet them again in the finals and we can't afford to suffer in their hands twice but we must improve on our performance if we want to retain our title," Johnson said, adding that lack of fitness and endurance was the problem for their opening league defeat.
YMCA's current top scorer, James Sennesie, who spearheaded their win after securing 17 points out of the 48 scored in their win against Cannon Royals, has dismissed talks of them being favourites saying the final will be a different game.
"The opening win over Cannon Royals was a major boost for us in reaching the finals and we want to complement our performance this season by winning the league which will be great for us," Sennsie, who is also battling with Royals' Johnson for the MVP prize, said.
