By Jacinta Odongo (email the author)
Unbeaten Team Ikong take on Team Mukiza in the first semifinal of the Friday Night Lights (FNL) tournament at YMCA court tonight. Team Kasewu face Team Blick in the other semifinal. Ronnie Kasewu, who last week led his team to a comfortable 51-39 win against Team Enabu will be out to ensure his team registers another victory and earns a place in the final.
Team Blick were unfortunate in their previous outing, going down 37-39 to Team Ikong. Led by Power and national team star Joseph Ikong (pictured), Team Ikong are the only unbeaten side in the tournament and are odds-on favourites to win the top prize. This FNL season has been filled with lots of excitement so far, attracting high-profile people from all walks of life.
Even though they failed to make the last four, Isaac Lugudde’s team LK4 has been the centre of attraction, fielding some of Kampala’stop celebrities. In their last outing, LK4 had in their ranks Kampala Mayor Erias Lukwago,Kampala Central MP Medi Nsereko and city socialites Judith Heard and Susan Achola. The FNL gives fans a chance to play alongside their favourite star players.
