Runner-up of 2010/2011 DStv Premier Basketball League Union Bank has started the season in a bright note. At the new season weekend, it opened its campaign in the 2011/2012 season with a 77-70 points win over rejuvenated Chariot at the Sports Hall of the National stadium Lagos.
The 'Stallion' Boys won the first, second and fought quarters by 23-22, 21-15 and 20-18 but lost the third quarter by 13-15 points in the season opener.
Union Bank small forward John Paul Okojie lead his team to victory with a double of 21 points and 12 rebounds and gave 2 assists while youngster Tope Arikawe poured in 12 points, 12 rebounds and 3 steals to a valuable victory.
