KENYA : KBF to hold polls in March this year .

KENYA Basketball Federation (KBF) will hold their polls in March this year. According to the calendar of events released yesterday, all the branches affiliated to the federation will have their polls this month. KBF fixtures secretary Joseph Amoko said that national league will throw off in March 24 with matches in Nairobi, Nakuru, Kisumu and Mombasa. A total of 36 teams will feature in both the men’s and women’s Premier League and Division One. Each category will feature 12 teams.


Fixtures: January 6th: Branch elections; March 18: National AGM/elections, Provincial/referees coaches clinics; March 17-18: Pre-season tournaments in Nairobi; March 24th: National league starts in Nairobi, Kisumu, Nakuru and Mombasa; April: National secondary school games in Kisumu, U-18 boys and girls qualifiers, Inter cities tournament in Kampala; May 5-6: Labour day tournament in Nakuru: June 2-3: Madaraka Day tournament in Kakamega; July: National league second leg starts; Zone Five Club Championships Ethiopia/Uganda; September: Inter Banks, October 20: Kenyatta Day Open in Kisumu; Nov 10-11:Provincial play-offs (Nairobi), National league play-offs start; December 8-9: Jamhuri Day open (Mombasa).
