NIGERIA : Deepwater Suffer First Defeat
Nigeria's female basketball champions, Deepwater suffered their first defeat in the ongoing FIBA African Women championship as they crumbled to the defending champions, Interclube of Angola in an exciting match.
The Angolan team showed the stuff of a champion as they clinched the match with an 82-75 margin.
The Angolans demonstrated their superiority by winning the first quarter 26-20 and won the second quarter narrowly at 23-22.
Deepwater ladies however fought back winning the third quarter 23-9 and drew the last quarter 17-17 to take their total points to maximum 9 points in three matches. They will now play First Bank in the last match of the round robin championship.
