By Usher Komugisha

KCCA Leopards defeated hosts Jeshi stars of Tanzania 60-52 in the Africa Zone V club championships third place playoff in Dar-es-salaam, Tanzania on Saturday.
Leopards won three of their four games in the preliminary round robin tournament defeating Burundi's Berco stars, Ethiopia's Government Housing Agency and eventual champions Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) but fell to Tanzania's Jeshi stars.
"It was very competitive and the ladies have picked up all the necessary lessons to come back home and continue with serious business," said a proud Timothy Odeke, Leopards head coach.
The Ugandan outfit shockingly lost to Berco stars in the semi-finals on Friday 65-61 following Leopards' captain Flavia Oketcho injury, however, coach Odeke insists that the experience from this tournament is enough to build on back home.
Leopards are unbeaten in the FUBA basketball league and are eyeing the national crown at the end of this year.
Meanwhile, Burundi's Urunani defeated back-to-back champions Kenya's Cooperative Bank to lift their maiden regional title.
Urunani shocked two time champions APR 59-58 in the semi-finals while Cooperative Bank thrashed countrymen Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) 87-71.
