KENYA : Nairobi Basketball Play-Offs Pushed Back By One Week
THE 2011 play off quarter final matches earlier planned for this weekend have been pushed back by a week according to Kenya Basketball Federation fixtures secretary Joseph Amoko. He said the the Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium will not be available due to the Standard Charted marathon that will start and end at the venue. "We cannot hold matches there due to the unavailability of the venue.
As a result we have decided to have the matches played next weekend. But the matches slated outside Nairobi will go on as planned." he said. Out of the nine matches on the card, only four will be played. In the premier league tie, reigning women's champions Kenya Ports Authority will host Gladiators in Mombasa.
The other top tie will see Sprite Storms travel to Kakamega to face Western Delight while Kisumu Lakeside welcome Kenya Navy and Nakuru Club meet Parklands Baptist in a lower division tie. The other fixtures will see reigning national champions Co-operative Bank of Kenya tackling Masinde Muliro University of Agriculture and Technology.
