This could be a long MTN-Fuba League weekend for DMark Power. They did thrash Charging Rhino 107-65 and need to find that extra ounce of energy for the clash with UCU Canons at YMCA court today.
Coach Bernice Ankunda’s side posted the first hundred of the men’s topflight this season with Isaac Afidra leading the way with 16 points and 10 rebounds. “The result is good but very imperfect. We should have scored 100 points by the end of the first quarter and also let in so many,” said Power captain Afidra.
Power were clinical in using their strength – transitional basketball at its best. Isaac Luggudde scored a game-high 23 points as it all looked too easy at times against the relegation threatened side.
Rhino trailed 17-25, 7-26, 18-26 and 23-30 through the four periods with Walter Omony the only notable player in offense with 11 points. Knowing the challenge which UCU presents, Ankunda gave his big men limited time on the floor.
