TANZANIA : Heroes Rally to Beat Mzizima 50-28 in Basketball Tourney
Heroes Secondary School survived a scare before beating Mzizima 50-28 in a thrilling Dar es Salaam regional basketball championship league at Zanaki grounds on Monday.
Mzizima seemed destined for a win in the opening minutes as they enjoyed the lion's share of the first four minutes of the first quarter.
However, they lost steam towards the end of the closely contested quarter to go down 16-14.
In the second quarter, Heroes started where they had left off, scoring points almost at will to take the quarter 36-12.
Yusuph Abel and Ben Elisha were instrumental to Heroes' victory. They scored 16 and 15 points respectively, while their team mate Jaisan Ndambala had 10 points.
Earlier, Azania Secondary School tumbled to 58-27 to Loyora in another exciting match at the same venue. At half time, Loyora were leading 33-7.
Luis Abrahaman scored 16 points for Loyora and Francis Crispian had 16. Rogers Adely was a notable player for Azania. He scored 18 points.
