Laiser Hill and Tigoi Girls destroyed their opponents in the girls’ and boys’ categories as Kenya lifted basketball titles for the ninth year running at the Brookside East Africa secondary school games on Saturday.

National champions Tigoi successfully defended their title with a 62-45 final score against SOS from Burundi, while Laiser Hill Academy bagged the boys’ trophy for a record sixth time after they defeated Bentiu of South Sudan 80-67 in a repeat of last year’s final in Nakuru.
“We have been waiting for this moment. We have had a tough time making it to the final, let alone winning the title. We will be back to defend it next year,” said an elated Laiser Hill coach Anthony Kirimi.
