Basketball in Africa

Dar es Salaam. Tanzania will host this year’s East and Central Africa basketball championship, it has been revealed. The event also known as Zone Five tournament will take place at a venue yet to be named. Tanzania Basketball Federation (TBF) assistant secretary Michael Waluye confirmed yesterday that preparations for the regional championship were on course. Waluye said Tanzania will field four teams in the event.

He named them as ABC, Savio (men), JKT and Jeshi Stars (women).Countries that have so far confirmed their participation in the event are Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Sudan, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Eritrea and hosts Tanzania, according to the TBF official. (Jessca Nangawe)
