FRANCISTOWN: Basketball league new comers, Drillers have been disqualified after failing to honour two consecutive fixtures. Botswana Basketball Association (BBA) chairperson, Kabo Khama has said the disqualification means the debutants previous results have been nullified. He said Drillers failed to turn up for the game against Thebepahatshwa based Eagles a fortnight ago and the clash against Dolphins.
He stated that the club's officials failed to give valid reason for the failure to honour the fixtures. Khama said the officials claimed that they were not aware of the fixtures. The club did not honour summons to appear before the Disciplinary Committee. Khama explained despite the suspension, Drillers can take part in other BBA tournaments and activities. 'The team remains affiliated to the BBA,' he said. Drillers were struggling at the bottom of the log after losing all the six games it played.
