PLS Hawks and Anse Etoile Stars both reached century marks in their weekend matches as things heat up in the race for the championship.

Reigning league champions PLS Hawks were victorious over leaders Premium Cobras 102-77, putting an end to their unbeaten run, while Anse Etoile Stars easily climbed to the top spot after smashing fifth placed Cadettes 118-21.
Already lost once to Mont Fleuri Dawgz, Hawks started the encounter on a very high tempo and took a comfortable 35-23 lead at the end of the first quarter, with Daniel Victor chipping 11points.
The second period was no different, as Hawks kept pushing forward, adding another 25 points – with 10 points from Nigerian Alao Solomon – compared to 16 for Cobras to maintain their lead. The halftime score was 60-39.
Victor and Solomon combined for 19 of Hawks’ 23 points scored in the third quarter, while Amadou Sylla scored eight points for Cobras, bringing their total to 16 for the quarter.

With PLS Hawks already in the driving seat, Cobras dug into their reserve to at least cut on the lead during the fourth quarter. Eight points – including two treys – from Timmy Adam did the trick for Cobras as they managed to outscore Hawks 20-19.
Solomon was Hawks’ top scorer with 34 points while Darren Lesperance led the scoring for Cobras with 19 points.
Despite the defeat, Premium Cobras remain on top of the league table with 13 points from six wins and a loss out of seven matches, while PLS are second on 11 points after five wins and a loss out of six matches.

Unbeaten Stars now top the league table with maximum 10 points after five matches, while Cadettes lie fifth with only four points from as many matches.
