KENYA : Champs Co-op Bank and KCB Lions post mixed wins in league

NAIROBI (Premier League) - Defending champions Co-operative Bank of Kenya beat Thunder 77-71 in a top premier league clash at Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium.

The bankers, who remain unbeaten trailed 31-34 at the break but did well to recover the deficit at the end of full time. Stylish guard Titus Musembi scored 18 points while veteran national team star Peter Kiganya bagged 17. Thunder's game high came from national team guard Griifin Ligare.
KCB Lions collected four points in two days, posting wins over United States International University and Mennonites.
In the women's league, Eagle Wings recovered from a defeat to Strathmore (44-48) by crushing Predators 94-25.
Strathmore University made it two from two as they pipped Co-operative Bank of Kenya 53-51 in over time following a 47-47 stalemate.
The deadlock was set by a last gasp buzzer beating jumper by Grace Wanjiku with the bankers ahead by a basket.
