NIGERIA : IpNX Rookies Competition starts in Lagos

the 2010 edition of the ipNX Basketball Competition jump-starts Monday at the basketball court of the Police College, Ikeja, Lagos with seven game decided in the age grade competition pioneered by Coach Mark Balogun.
In the U18 boys category which is the flagship of the competition Impression basketball club defeated Freedom Reign by 21-16 points while Tornadoes humbled Navy Academy by 21-11 points.
Two game were decided in the boys U16 cadre, Warlords basketball club was 23-11 points better than Raptors Academy Team-B just Warriors Academy had the better of the Rookies Academy side by 23-20 points.
Action was witnessed in the ipNX Rookies tourney in the U14 and U12 catedories. In the U14 Warriors Academy again was superb with a 16-08 points win over Raptors just as Diamond team defeated Rookies Academy by 21-07 points and the only game decided in the U12 category Rookies Academy went past Raptors by 08-06 points.
Action continues Tuesday in the competition that have produced great players that have represented clubs at continental engagement and the national team.
Competition Coordinator, Mark Balogun says the compeition will continue to chunk out players who could hold their own against any opposition.
