RWANDA : APR Ladies storm Zone V finals

WHILE CSK crumbled to a 49-68 defeat against a shrewd Cooperative Bank side of Kenya, APR’s women side kept Rwanda ‘s flag high after dislodging KPA of Kenya 59-51 in yesterday’s semi-final of this year’s Zone V club championships which are being held in Burundi.
The army side, which started the tournament on the wrong foot after losing to Kenya’s Eagle wings 59-63, proved that they mean business as they out-scored KPA who had been deemed favourites for the game.
It was APR’s third win of the tournament after victories over Uganda’s UCU (59-52) and Ngozi (67-52).
APR‘s men side failed to qualify for the semi-finals after suffering a 69-75 defeat against Burundi’s New stars.
