Basketball in Africa

The 2005 ladies’ basketball champions, A-1 Challenge have pulled out of the Zone V Club Championships due in Bujumbura, Burundi August 15-21. The team has cited insecurity in Rwanda as reason for pulling out. “We have considered instability in Rwanda due to elections taking place in August. This is an obstacle to our participations considering that half of the players are students,” said the A-1 captain, Gloria Kyomugisha.
