NIGERIA : DStv PL- Comets, Yelwa launch double assault in Lagos, Kaduna

The Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF organized DStv Premier League resume this weekend with seven crucial games on bill across the country as teams jostle for a place in the final-8 playoffs slot while other battle against relegation.
In the Atlantic conference former champion, Ebun Comets basketball club would expect to raise its games as it went for a double assault against the Police Baton on Friday (today) and Nigeria Customs basketball club on Sunday at the sports hall of the national stadium, Lagos.
The Comets versus Police Baton game today promised to attract the best of basketball artistry as the Coach Mark Balogun Police side have vowed to repay Comets back in its own coins after the Coach Ayo Bakare tutored young Comets side humbled the Police side penultimate weekend by 100-92 points to assume a contender role for a place in the conference playoffs slot.
Coach Bakare who promised that his side has what it takes to make it to the playoffs coming up in Port Harcourt in September will be guest of Nigeria Customs side who are still searching for a winning formula. Comets were the better of the two sides when both teams meet in week-one of the Atlantic conference pairing with a 73-54 points advantage.
Still in the Atlantic conference Union Bank basketball club and Dodan Warriors basketball club will entertain the fans in Lagos on Saturday as both sides engage each other in a supremacy battle with Union Bank having the upper hand having won the league opener between both sides by 77-76 points and presently occupied the fourth spot on the conference standing.
Yelwa Hawks basketball club of Bauchi is another team waging a double war against home side Kada Stars basketball club of Kaduna and Plateau Peaks basketball club of Jos but has its home games played in the sports hall of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
The Kada versus Yelwa match-up holds on Saturday at the sports hall of the Murlata Square Sports Complex gymnasium with the home side gunning for a double supremacy win over the Coach Oche Omuh tutored Hawks who suffered a 48-53 points home lose to the Kada side in the week-one of the league earlier in the year while it will attempt to confirm its superiority over the Peaks on Sunday.
AHIP Giants basketball club of Kano will battle defending champion, Kano Pillars basketball club at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofa mata, Kano in a local derby. While Niger Potters basketball club will be at home to Savannah conference second placed team, Bauchi Nets basketball club in a must win game if it hope to make final-8 playoffs cut.
