MALAWI : Malawi, Zimbabwe basketballers play two celebratory matches
APA-Lilongwe (Malawi) Malawi’s National Basketball team (MNB) will play two matches against Zimbabwe as part of this country’s 46th independence anniversary celebrations on Tuesday and Thursday, APA learnt here Monday.
MNB Coach Blair Phiri said the team, comprising 12 players, has been preparing for the game to show Malawians their talent during the independence celebrations.
"The team is very much prepared and Malawians should expect a win during this friendly game with Zimbabwe," he said.
The Zimbabweans arrived in the country on Sunday for the Tuesday encounter to be played at the College of Medicine Sports Complex in Blantyre and in Lilongwe on Thursday at the African Bible College.
Malawi became independence on 6 July from British colonial rule.
