MALAWI : Malawi basketball team to play Zimbabwe on 6 July
In commemoration of Malawi’s 46 Independence Anniversary, the Malawi National Basketball Team will play Zimbabwe in two matches slated for July 6 and July 8.
According to a statement signed by Basketball Association of Malawi (BASMAL) Vice Secretary General Mayeso Chirwa, the Zimbabwe team arrives in the Country on Sunday, July 4 for the Tuesday, July 6 game at College of Medicine Sports Complex which will start at 3:00 p.m.
The two teams will meet again in Lilongwe on Thursday, July 8 at the African Bible College Gym from 5 p.m.
Blair Phiri is coach for the Malawi Team which is in camp.
The team comprises Mayamiko Chilongozi, Manson Phiri, Nelson Kanyenda, Chimwemwe Jeremiah, Kumbukani Mithi, Richard Chavula, Chikondi Mwendera, Weluzani Chingota, Alinane Harawa and Titus Phoya.
Others are Takondwa Jana, Emmanuel Kambalame, Wellington Mwafulirwa and Fletcher Mtawali.
