UGANDA : St. Michael test champs Warriors
Today at YMCA
Warriors v St. Michael (5pm)
Women
Crane v Nabisunsa (3pm)
Stormers v Amazon (12pm)
The celebrations that engulfed St. Michael High School’s promotion to the MTN-Fuba League Men’s Division one must have fizzled out already.
One victory, earned against fellow promoted side, Berkley, has left St. Michael only second from bottom as the efforts of double-digit regulars Andrew Okot and Daniel Owiyi have become hard to notice. Wounded Kyambogo Warriors cannot let St. Michael whine for too long. The two clash at YMCA court, Wandegeya today.
Defeats to DMark Power and UCU Canons have left champions Warriors in a spot of bother. Injuries to guard Ronnie Kasewu, forward Steven Okias and centre Brian Gumisiriza have dominated coach Gad Eteu’s notebook.
All three in addition to Jude Ochen, who returns after a break to be with family, could play against St. Michael to lessen the burden on Kenyan Martin Okwanko and Tanzanian Abdullah “Dullah” Ramadhan as the rusty duo are yet to click since their return from holiday.
Though Makmot Orom has settled in well, his former Kampala International University (KIU) Titans teammate Michael Kariuki is yet to attain his ‘gun’. Kariuki was KIU’s most valuable player.
