UGANDA : Kasewu injury not severe - Eteu
Kampala
Tomorrow at YMCA
Power v KIU (8.30pm)
Miracle v Falcons (5.30pm)
Women
KIU v UCU (7pm)
The look on Kyambogo Warriors coach Gad Eteu’s face as Ronnie Kasewu was carried off during an MTN-Fuba League game last week told it all. Eteu looked helpless and sad as his point guard couldn’t even limp as he left YMCA court, Wandegeya following an ankle injury against Nkumba Marines.
Kasewu went down meekly after failing to pick an offensive rebound and was only helped off the ground. Now, Eteu can afford a smile as the reigning MVP won’t be out for too long. “Doctors looked at him and luckily it was only a sprain. He was advised to take a two-week break,” said Eteu.
His assistant, Peter Wandukwa, was even more positive. “His recovery is going just fine. Ronnie managed to undergo slight training with us and should be able to play the next game,” Wandukwa told Daily Monitor.
The champions’ next fixture is against UCU Canons on June 4. In a related development, Kenyan Warriors star Martin Okwako’s return from holiday has again been put on hold. “Martin was supposed to come back last Thursday but couldn’t because the bus was full. I hope he is in Kampala by the end of this week,” Wandukwa explained.
