Isaac Lugudde sank a game-high 23 points to help Power overrun Nkumba Marines 74-65. But it was Joseph Ikong who took center stage early in the first two quarters (15-4, 15-16) sinking 16 of his 22 points.
Lugudde took over in the last quarter making 14 points. “We played better defence, pressing up field with a high tempo game,” Lugudde said. Meanwhile, UCU Canons continued their impressive start to the season winning 83-76 against Miracle Eagles. Caeser Kizito sunk a game high 21 and UCU’s Robert Mugabe dropped 17 points.
In the women’s game, A-1 Challenge laboured to a 78-66 victory over Kampala International University. Vicky Ntale, 17, Ali Mavita, 13 and Carol Mugasha 10, points helped the latter win. Judith Nansobya scored 15 points for Nimrod Kaboha’s KIU.
