15th AFCCW: First Bank trash KPA, top group-A
Wild card entrant, First Bank basketball club of Nigeria Wednesday showed champion stuff with an emphatic 84-29 points pounding of Kenya Ports Authority in her last group-A game at the Palais des Sports arena, Cotonou, Benin Republic.
The former champion won in all four-quarters by 22-06; 16-14; 26-01 and 20-08 to stay top of group-A.
First Bank America-import, Danielle Green led the banker with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals, 4 block-shots and 2 assists, Adeola Olanrewaju had a double double figure of 11 rebounds, 10 points and 2 steals just as the duo of Chioma Udeaja and Rashidat Sadiq added 10 points each.

Host of the final round of the 15th FIBA Africa Champions Club for Women, Energie basketball club of Benin Republic Wednesday gave-up all hope of picking a win in group-A of the competition losing by a 30 points margin of 69-39 points to A"Politecnica basketball club of Mozambique.
The Mozambican won in all four quarters by 18-09; 14-10; 22-10 and 15-10 points to finish third in the group which comprises group leader, First Bank of Nigeria, Abidjan Basket Club of Cote d’Ivoire who finish the group as the second team while Kenya Ports Authority picked the fourth slot to the quarter-finals.
