KIU Rangers defeated the Kyambogo Warriors 69-59 at YMCA over the weekend to complete a second-round sweep of the three giants in the MTN-FUBA men’s first division.
The victory kept Nimrod Kaboha’s team on course for the playoffs and confirmed they will be a tough nut to crack if they make it there. All they have to do now is defeat the UCU Canons and Ndejje University Angels.
The win against Warriors follows KIU’s 89-78 victory over table-leaders and defending champions D’Mark Power and a 58-45 triumph over the Mountain Dew Falcons.
KIU are the only side to defeat Power, Warriors and the Falcons this season. They have also beaten fourth placed Nkumba Marines.
All the victories have come in the second round, in which KIU have won six of their seven matches. KIU won only three of their nine first round matches.
