KENYA : ICC stop Posta to widen league lead

International Christian Centre (ICC) have widened their lead in the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) men’s Premier League by two points.

At the weekend, ICC, formerly known as the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), stopped Posta’s winning trend with 76-62 victory to rest at the top of the league standings with 22 points.
Philip Dinga and Paul Ojuoga scored 24 and 18 points for ICC.
Posta’s points came from Ben Oluoch and Desmond Owilly, who netted 15 and 11 points.
Last week, ICC shared the lead with Strathmore University, who now remain second with 20 points. Strathmore University had no game at the weekend.

Successful weekend

Bottom-placed Terror overcame Lomboritz 54-49 to put their points tally at 12.
Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) teams had successful weekend outings in Nairobi.
KPA men edged the United States International University-Africa (Usiu-A) 86-84 to rest at the sixth place in the standings with 18 points.
Also with 18 points are Posta, who collected a point and now stay a step ahead of KPA.
Co-op Bank and Kenya Commercial Bank also share 19 points a piece at position three and four .

Though still at the summit, Eastern Queens’ winning ways were cut short by Eagle Wings, who edged them 66-61.

Anastacia Njeri’s several three-pointers, that made Wings to fly in the start, destroyed Queens’ confidence.

KPA women moved to the third place with 17 points after destroying Usiu-A 66-26.

Sprite Storms and Eagle Wings now share 16 points each. Yana and Usiu-A are also level on 14 points and are bottom of the women’s standing.
