RWANDA : Players unhappy with meals
BY JULIUS MBARAGA
TRIPOLI, LIBYA - IN a physically demanding tournament like the on-going 2009Afrobasket championship in Libya, players need to eat and eat well.
Sadly, it looks like Bab-Albahar hotel; the residence of the participating teams did not do their homework well. Apart from the breakfast, the hotel has stuck to serving Libyan dishes during lunch and supper leaving the players very discontented.
The teams have complained that they are being fed on dry food. “We are struggling with the food. It’s very dry and we don’t have any options,” a frustrated Senegalese player said.
Half of the Rwandan team has now resorted to Pizzas from a nearby restaurant.
“The players are not happy with the meals so we have decided to supplement the meals with Pizzas because that’s the best we can get,” one of Rwanda’s team officials Innocent Karuhije said.
“It’s frustrating when you have to eat the same food every single day,” Rwanda’s team captain Hamza Ruhezamihigo added.
