The U16 male team of Nigeria beat today Benin team 73 - 40 in the day 2 of the joint preliminaries of U16 zone 3 for men and women, played in Cotonou, Benin.

However, Benin started well the game by wining the first quarter (18 – 05) but face a huge come back of Nigeria and despite lost the second quarter, reached the break with 26 – 25 points advance. At the resume, Nigeria kept on scoring and won the third quarter 20 - 06. Nigeria widely won the last quarter (28 – 08) and clinched its second victory with 73 – 40 points win after beating yesterday Burkina Faso 105 – 40 in the day 1.

For the third and last day to be played tomorrow, Benin will play against Burkina in men category for the second place as Nigeria secured the first place. In women game, Burkina Faso will face Nigeria in second leg game after losing the first leg 31 – 102.
