TANZANIA : Two refs to attend FIBA hoops course
Two Tanzanians leave for Cote dIvoire on May 2, to attend the FIBA-sponsored International Basketball Referee Course.
Scheduled to start from May 5 to 8, the course is exclusive for referees holding FIBA badges, according to the president of Tanzania Basketball Federation (TBF) Richard Kasesera.
He named the referees included in the trip as Gozbert Boniface from Dar es Salaam and Mwanza-based Zulfikar Karim.
"They are the only referees qualified to officiate at international matches sanctioned by the Federation of International Basketball," he said.
Speaking to Sunday Citizen yesterday, one of the referees Gozbert Boniface said he would work hard during the course so that he qualifies for world class status.
Kasesera said the course has attracted referees from all over the world.
