TANZANIA : Teams arrive for basketball tournament

Harare and Mogadishu basketball teams are expected to fly in tomorrow for the East, Central and Southern Africa Inter-cities championship.
Arusha will host the regional competition from March 24 to 29, with the event involving both men and women teams from various cities of the region.
Simon Msoffe, President of the East and Central African regional basketball governing body (ACIBCC), said preparations for the event were complete. Msoffe said the two men's teams from Harare and Mogadishu would make their first appearances in the tourney.
Other cities, whose teams would participate include; Nairobi, Jinja, Kisumu, Mombasa, Mwanza, Mbeya, Dar es Salaam, Port Victoria, Entebbe and Kampala.
According to Msoffe, teams would arrive in Arusha one day before the kickoff day, while referees would arrive two days before.
Dar es Salaam teams dubbed the 'Dream Teams' are now under intensive training for the tournament.
Dar es Salaam City are the defending Champions in the Men's category while the women team finished second behind the winners Kampala City.
