SEYCHELLES : Angel Fish-sponsored Curtain-raiser tournament - Cobras in first final
THEIR aim is to relive their glorious past and they want to get it started early in the season. Premium Cobras are in tomorrow’s men’s final of the Angel Fish-sponsored Curtain-raiser tournament.
On Thursday at Victoria Gymnasium, coach Guy Hall’s team steamrollered Angels 110-58 in the last-four stage to book their tickets for the final, where they will meet the winners of yesterday’s second semifinal between defending champions PLS Hawks and Razors.
The last time Premium Cobras played in a final was in December 2007 when they lost the Seychelles Basketball Federation (SBF) Cup series to the Hawks.
Premium Cobras won game one 72-68 and were pounded 64-102 in game two, before being scorched 80-61 in the decisive game three.
“We are determined to win some silverware this year,” said club president Roy Collie.
The women’s final at 3pm is a repeat of last year’s, with defending champions Anse Etoile Stars up against HotShots.
