NIGERIA : First Deepwater Coach looks beyond Nigeria league to target Continental ticket

Despite the non-activities that have bedeviled the Nigeria local scene with three months into the year, Coach of First Deepwater basketball club, Lateef Erinfolami is optimistic that his team will grab one of the continental tickets at the end of the women league.

Speaking with our correspondent shortly after the Oil and Gas outfit handed down an 84-65 points defeat of Dolphins basketball club in a warm-up game played last week at the Sports Hall of the Lagos National Stadium, the former Chief Coach of Delta Force basketball club is confident that the First Deepwater team would not be found wanting whenever the league jump-start.

The former Nigeria international says only a continental ticket would be good enough reciprocate all the support from club chairman, Engr. Babatunde Babalola.
“I am confident that we are capable of picking one of the two continental tickets and without sounding immodest I am not afraid of any team in the Nigerian league.
“We have the players to do the job especially with the great support we’ve continue to receive from our chairman and other management staff of the club we can go beyond the sky and not just to qualify for the continental championship alone but to also represent Nigeria very well.

The continue its build-up to the dunk-off date of the 2008/ 2009 season with great expectation as it has intensify its training which it conducted at the sports hall of the Lagos National Stadium.
