Savio trounced Oilers 57-47 in the Dar es Salaam regional basketball league popularly known as 'Kili RBA' at the National Indoor Stadium in the city over the weekend. George Tarimo scored 24 points as Savio proved too strong for Oilers.
The winners led by 30 points against 24 of Oilers at the breather and showed enormous character to outclass their opponents in the final half. Despite fighting with determination Oilers failed to match their rivals and had to concede a ten-point deficit after full time.
Karim Ezekiel and Lusajo Somali managed 18 and 10 points respectively for defeated Oilers. Vijana ‘City Bulls’ are the men’s reigning champions of Kili RBA league and JKT Stars are the tournament’s ladies’ defending champions. The Dar es Salaam regional basketball league which kicked off on December 20 will reach its climax in March. The league involves 14 men teams and six women teams.
