LIBYA : Al-Ittihad, Al-Nasser Share Top Position

At the end of the third day’s programme of matches in the Basketball League, defending champions Al-Ittihad and Al-Nasser managed to keep their unbeaten record by beating Al-Morog and Al-Shabab respectively.

By virtue of their victories they share the top billing in the league standings, a point ahead of Al-Ahli of Benghazi.

None of the wins were easy as the losers managed to keep up with the victors for moar of the time and at the end only a few points separated the teams.

Al-Ittihad managed only a three-point win (61-58) over Al-Morog, who on their part are still looking for their first victory. It was the closest result of all the four matches played.

Al-Nasser beat last year’s cup winners Al-Shabab by 64-51. The latter have still only won one match, and also had a point deducted when they failed to turn up on time in the season’s opener.

In the other matches Al-Ahli of Benghazi defeated Al-Madina 79-59, while the other Al-Ahli club, from Tripoli, registered a seven-point success (63-56) over Al-Hilal.
