ZIMBABWE : Raiderz, JBC Lose in Zambia
by Paul Munyuki
Lusaka
THE going proved too tough for Zimbabwe's representatives at the Zone VI Men's Club Championships after both Raiderz and JBC finished their group stages without a win.
Having lost their first two games, Raiderz were beaten 62-85 by Heroes United Play of Zambia in their final Pool B match here yesterday.
JBC fell 43-72 to ASA of Angola.
The games were supposed to have been played on Monday night but the programme was disrupted by a power failure at Nasdec Sports Centre.
The two Zimbabwean teams finished bottom of their groups.
They will now take part in the positional playoffs with JBC dating Heroes Play of Zambia while Raiderz take on Hetro Bullets of Zambia.
Raiderz were missing the services of Duncan Shenje, who is down with malaria, in their match against Heroes United Play.
Norest Shenje top-scored for Raiderz with 17 points, Tapiwa Mugunyana added 10 points while Clement Kufeketa weighed in with 10.
But the duo of John Waitolo and Ntsent Mwewa scored 15 points apiece and led the Zambians to victory.
