14th Champions Cup for women : Radi crushed KCC 93-60 in classification
Radi of DR Congo crushed Kampala City Council (KCC) 93-60 in first classification game. The Ugandans remained the only team in the twelve team event without a win. They will now fight out against Victoria ( the loser of the other classification game) for the 11-12 position tomorrow while Radi will face Eagle Wings for the 9 – 10 position.
The winners took a huge 27-16 lead at the end of the first quarter and hanged on 27-10 in the second quarter. The third was again all too easy for Radi who went up 27-16.
KCC, playing without their inspirational captain Miriam Hamala, who reportedly returned back to Uganda, did better in the last quarter as they came out to force a 18-18 tie.
Kalundu Mussau connected for 30 point haul, Nyola Mukoso nailed 19, Nyota Mugane responded with 14 while Mautundayi Key hit another 11 for Radi. KCC were pepped by Becky Akulo who recorded the team's best haul in the games with 27 points while Annete Nakivu chipped in with 14.
