14th Champions Cup for women: Djoliba bow to First Bank 61 - 69
First Bank of Nigeria hit today Djoliba of Mali 69-61 in a tight pool A match counting for the day 5 at the Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium in Nairobi, Kenya.
Serem Aminata three pointer opened the game for Djoliba who superb in the first two quarters as they took the game to First Bank. They were ahead 22-19 in the first quarter and hanged on 13-11 in the second quarter.
But Firts Bank, who now finished second behind leaders Primero of Angola, managed a 19-17 cushion in the third as the experience of professional Mfon Udoka showed in the last which they took 20-9 to carry the day.
Udoka scored 15 points mostly in the last quater while Joyce Ekworomandu hit game leading 19. For Djoliba, Traore Mama led with 18 while Nassira bagged 11 and Mbengue Ndaye hit 10
