14th Champions Cup for women : Djoliba beat Eagle Wings 82 – 60 for its first game
Djoliba AC of Mali beat Eagle Wings of Kenya 82 – 60 in its first game and counting for the day 2 of the 14th FIBA Africa Champions Cup for women, played at Nyayo national stadium gymnasium in Nairobi, Kenya.
Djoliba won three of the four quarters including the first (22 – 13), second (18 – 10) and fourth (22 – 15) while Eagle Winds won the third (22- 20).
The best scorer of the game was M’Bengue N’Deye of Djoliba with 25 points while Bridgit Nanzala hit 12 points for Eagle Wings.
For the their first game of the competition, the girls of Djoliba recorded a victory and will fight against Primero de Agosto of Angola tomorrow in the day 3 then against KCC of Uganda on Sunday, 23rd November 2008 for the Day 1 complete.
Eagle Wings recorded two defeats and keep a date with First Bank tomorrow for the day 3.
