NAMIBIA : Tomahawks Women Win Basketball Title

by Corry Ihuhua

The Tomahawks women's basketball side emulated their male counterparts by capturing the Khomas Basketball Association (KBA) title at the weekend.
The Tomahawks side walked away as the champions for the season with a 49-35 win in their last and deciding match against Unam Sparks on Friday.
The two teams played the best of three games, of which Tomahawks made it two against one in the end.
The women's side rounded off the weekend with another victory by scooping the KBA Cup on Saturday as they went past Polytech by 75-21 points.
However, the Polytech men's side claimed the title in that category when they beat Titans 70-61 in the final.

Yesterday, the league treasurer, Wolgang Kleine confirmed that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) was due to take place last night.
He said there were people who were identified to fill in the positions on the committee and were due to be endorsed last night.
Kleine said he will not stand for the presidency of the KBA as earlier reported, but will instead serve as a league director.
"I don't want to stand for the position.
I will serve the association in a different capacity," he said.
Both the KBA and the Namibia Basketball Federation (NBF) have been running their activities without sponsors for a few years now.
