UGANDA : Champs Falcons tipped to humiliate Lions
By Charles Mutebi
MTN-FUBA League
Saturday
Crane High v Canons
Women
Amazon v Crane High
Victoria v Cubs
Sunday
Falcons v Lions
Women
Sparks v A1
Canons v Nabisunsa
AFTER going three weeks without play, the Mogas Falcons could not have asked for a better opponent than the KCC Lions to welcome them back to the MTN-FUBA league race.
The defending champions have not been in action since their 59-55 win over KIU on September 4, mainly because their match with the Gulu Hawks last week was postponed.
The Falcons might therefore consider their return against one of the league’s more beatable sides to be a blessing, as it might ensure greater insurance against any potential rust within their ranks.
The Lions are coming off their best run of the entire campaign after recording two straight victories against the Nkumba Marines and Crane High before it was ended by the Hawks last week.
Against the Falcons, it is highly unlikely the top-flight debutantes will get their third win in four matches. And given the fact they are sixth on the table, the Falcons cannot even contemplate being generous to the Lions.
